Study in China with the Fully Funded CSC 2026 Scholarship
Applications for the 2026–2027 Chinese Government Scholarship are officially open. South African students interested in degree or non-degree programs at accredited Chinese universities are welcome to apply. The nomination process is coordinated by South Africa’s Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). In addition to degree programs, applicants may also be considered for Chinese language training courses.

Scholarship Coverage

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be South African citizens in good physical health, confirmed through a medical examination
- Have a strong academic background, with a minimum average of 60 percent in their most recent qualification
- Be ready to commence studies in China in September 2026
- Demonstrate genuine interest in Chinese culture and a clear intention to contribute to South Africa after graduation

All required documents must be submitted in PDF format:
- Completed DHET scholarship application form
- Valid South African identification document
- Copy of a valid passport (must remain valid beyond December 1, 2026; apply immediately if you do not yet have one)
- Certified academic transcripts and qualification certificates
- Degree certificate (required for master’s and doctoral applicants)
- A one-page motivation letter
- Two letters of recommendation, either academic or professional
- Completed Foreigner Physical Examination form
- Police clearance certificate issued within the past six months
